Women’s Cross Country Takes Fifth at Bruce Kirsh Cross Country Cup

THE BASICS:

- Results: 5th/11 Teams

- Location: Hopkinton Fairgrounds | Hopkinton, N.H.

- The Lead: Assumption had a pair of top-20 finishers and five placed in the top 40 to take fifth overall at the Bruce Kirsh Cross Country Cup on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- Freshman Grace Corbett (Merrimack, N.H. / Merrimack) led the team by placing 17th in the event with a time of 19:31.3, followed closely by classmate Sydney McCann (South Dennis, Mass. / Dennis-Yarmouth) in 19:38.4.

- Sophomore Lauren Kuhns (Homer, Alaska / Homer) was the third on the team and 32nd as she finished in 20:11.3, while Meghan Slinskey (Fishkill, N.Y. / Our Lady of Lourdes) placed 33rd in 20:17.0. Tressa Novack (Scotch Plains, N.J. / Union Catholic Regional) rounded out the top five by taking 38th with a time of 20:29.3.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- Stonehill won the event with 40 points while Merrimack was second with 82. Saint Anselm took third (108) while Southern New Hampshire was fourth (116) and Assumption rounded out the top five with 139 points.
