WORCESTER, Mass. – Assumption freshman Victoria Steffon (Holden, Mass. / Wachusett Regional) was selected as the NE10 Track Rookie of the Week while the team's 4x100 relay earned Relay of the Week honors as announced by the conference on Wednesday.

Steffon had another solid weekend, winning the 100 meters in 12:38 seconds and taking fourth in the 200 meters with a time 25.78 seconds. Both were the top event times for any freshmen in the East Region this past weekend. This marks the second straight week Steffon has earned Rookie of the Week honors and already the sixth time in her career. 

Assumption's 4x100 relay set a new school record for the second straight meet, finishing in a time of 48.73 seconds to earn Relay of the Week honors for a second consecutive week. The quartet of Claudia Koontz (Concord, Mass. / Concord-Carlisle)Abby Jones (Arlington, Mass. / Arlington)Emma Santee (Westerly, R.I. / Westerly) and Steffon has the second-best time in the region and the best of any NE10 program by 1.33 seconds.
