Women's Tennis Edged by Franklin Pierce in Fall Season Finale

-The Lead: The Assumption College women's tennis team was edged in their fall season finale at Franklin Pierce University on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED

-Junior Veronica Op (Westford, Mass. / Westford Academy) and sophomore Ana Escudero (Rockville, Md. / Richard Montgomery) took Assumption's lone doubles victory, 6-1. The Ravens won at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles to secure the doubles point.

-Senior Camille Latoni (San Juan, P.R. / Academia Maria Reina) shut out Jillian Pagliuca at No. 5 singles and Escudero defeated Jazmin Flood at No. 6 sinlges with set scores of 6-2. Junior Valeria Sanchez (Carolina, P.R. / Colegio La Piedad) battled her way to a three-set victory at No. 4 singles. She took the first set over Flood, 6-0, was edged in set two, 6-4, and came out victorious, 6-3, in the tie breaker.
