WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption Women's Tennis team was selected fourth in the NE10 Preseason Poll in a vote of the league's 12 head coaches, as announced by the conference on Thursday.

Assumption placed fourth overall with 86 points, just ahead of fifth place Le Moyne who had 82. Last year's regular season champion Stonehill had seven first place votes and barely took the top spot with 115 points, while Adelphi had 114 points and four first place votes. Southern New Hampshire earned the third spot with 96 points, followed by Assumption.

Last year the Hounds went 11-4 overall and 9-3 in conference action. They won seven consecutive matches over the course of the season before eventually falling in the NE10 Quarterfinals. Assumption returns all but one student-athlete from its top-six last year as the Hounds look to replicate their success in 2018.

Assumption begins its season on Sept. 1 when the team travels to play Holy Cross in a non-conference match.
