Women's Soccer Plays to 0-0 Tie Against No. 24 Southern N.H.

-Score: Assumption 0, No. 24 Southern N.H. 0

-Records: Assumption (7-6-1, 6-4-1 NE10), Southern N.H. (11-3-1, 9-2-1 NE10)

-Location: Worcester, Mass. (Multi-Sport Stadium)

-The Lead: Despite 16 shots on net, including several good looks in overtime, the Assumption Greyhounds tied the No. 24 Southern N.H. Pennmen, 0-0, on a cold Tuesday night at the Multi-Sport Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-The Hounds held a 13-10 advantage in shots at the end of regulation despite a 0-0 tie. Johnna Caporuscio (Wayne, N.J. / Wayne Hills) produced a shot at the 86:25 mark that needed a save by Hannah Rose to prevent the Hounds from scoring. At the 87:59 mark, the Hounds' Alexis Nason (Saco, Maine / Thornton Academy) made a diving stop to prevent the Pennmen from scoring.

-Both teams were held scoreless in overtime. Kallie Villemaire (Plattsburgh, N.Y. / Beekmantown) had an opportunity to score when a Southern N.H. defender fell, leaving Villemaire wide open with the ball. She put the ball on net but Rose made a diving save to prevent Villemaire from scoring.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-Southern N.H. held a 17-16 shot advantage. The Hounds edged the Pennmen in corner kicks, 7-4. Villemaire led the team with six shots.

-The Hounds have not lost in over two weeks. They won three games in a row entering their matchup against Southern N.H. The team has had three shutouts during that span.

-Nason made nine saves for the Hounds and moved to 6-6-1 on the year. She also earned her third shutout on the year. Rose made eight saves for the Pennmen and moved to 10-3-1 on the year.

-The Hounds will host Pace on Friday, October 19, at 7 p.m. The Hounds will play in honor of Pancreas Cancer Awareness during that game.
