Women's Golf in Second After First Day In NEIGA Championships

The Lead: The Assumption College women's golf team had four golfers finish in the top ten as they sit in second after the first day of the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championship on Sunday afternoon. 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Sophomore Catherine French (Dudley, Mass./ Shepherd Hill) currently sits in third place overall and classmate Christine Cutting (Scituate, Mass./Scituate) is in 8th. French shot a 86 just three strokes out of first place while Cutting shot an 89. 
 
- Freshman Samantha Leary (Hingham, Mass./Hingham) is tied for 9th with sophomore Mia Rapoza (Westport, Mass. / Bishop Stang) shooting a 91 on the day. Senior Alyssa Ruggeri (Cranston, R.I./Cranston West) is in 15th overall shooting a 108.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Saint Rose is currently in first place shooting a 344, while Assumption is in second with a score of 357, and LIU Post is in third with a combined 376.
