The Lead: Assumption women's golf struggled on the opening day of the 2016 Northeast-10 Championship, finishing with a 367 as Christine Cutting (Scituate, Mass. / Scituate) had an 87 for the team's top score of the day.


- Cutting is tied for 14th after the opening round of the tournament after posting an 87. She had four pars and a birdie in her round of 18.

- Catherine French (Dudley, Mass. / Shepherd Hill Regional), the Hounds' top scorer in their first two tournaments, was a shot behind with an 88 while Mia Rapoza (Westport, Mass. / Bishop Stang) was third among Assumption golfers with a 93. 

- Merrimack had three of the top four golfers to lead after the first round with a 27-over 315, followed by Le Moyne with a 328. Assumption is seventh out of seven teams with its 367, just seven shots back of St. Rose.


- French led the team with eight pars and one birdie, but did have six double bogeys in her round of 18.

- Casey Gurlitz (Auburn, Mass. / Auburn), finished with a 99 as the team's fourth golfer and Hannah Hubacz (Oakham, Mass. / Quabbin Regional) was fifth on the team with a 109
