WORCESTER, Mass. – Following one of the most impressive scoring seasons in recent program history, senior Morgan O'Donnell (Easton, Mass. / Ursuline Academy) was named NE10 Second-Team All-Conference, as announced by the NE10 on Monday.
O'Donnell led Assumption this season, averaging 17.4 points per game and upped that total to 18.4 per contest in conference play, which ranked third in the NE10. She shot 50.9 percent from the floor while connecting on 16 three-point field goals and making 141 free throws. She also averaged 6.0 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.0 steal per game.
This year O'Donnell scored at least 30 points on four different occasions, the first Assumption women's player ever to accomplish that feat. She also set a new single-game school record with 39 points in an overtime victory over Merrimack on Nov. 14. Her 141 free throws this year was the fourth-highest single-season total in program history and O'Donnell concluded her career 19th in school history with 1110 points.
This marks the second straight season she earned All-Conference honors, after being selected to the third team a season ago. AIC's Dana Watts was honored as the NE10 Player of the Year while Merrimack's Denia David-Stewart was named Defensive Player of the Year and Stonehill's Kayla Raymond earned Rookie of the Year honors.
