Women's Basketball Raises Over $3,000 at Leukemia Awareness Game

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption women's basketball team is proud to announce that through online donations and selling t-shirts, the team raised $3,117 for Leukemia Research with their Leukemia Awareness Game. The team would like to thank everyone that helped make this such a success, especially the American Cancer Society and Christine Brown along with the Assumption Against Cancer students who volunteered.

Head Coach Kerry Phayre added, "On behalf of the Assumption Women's Basketball team I would like to thank all those who were involved with our Leukemia Awareness game on January 26th. Through all your efforts we were able to raise over $3,000 to go towards Leukemia research. As most of you know, this cause is very close to my heart as I lost my brother to Acute Myeloid Leukemia in 2017. Most of us have all lost a loved one to some form of cancer. Whenever we can all rally together to raise money in an effort to end this terrible disease it is for a good cause."

Thank you for all of the support. This would not have been such a success without you all.
