Lisa Wilson begins her second season as an assistant coach with the Assumption College men’s and women’s track and field program in 2018. Wilson will work with the throwers.
A 2010 graduate of UMass Amherst, Wilson graduated with a bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management. While at UMass Wilson had a standout career, serving as the team captain for two years while breaking five school records in the process (indoor shot, weight throw, outdoor shot, discus and hammer). She was the 2009 A10 and New England Discus Champion and a 3x NCAAA DI Outdoor T&F East Prelim Qualifier. After graduation she pursued her masters at the University of Redlands and graduated with a MBA in 2012, while serving as a graduate assistant for the cross country and track & field teams.
Wilson did not stop there, as she was an Olympic hopeful in the hammer throw during her post collegiate athletic career. She was a 5x US National Qualifier and competed in the 2016 USA Olympic Trials while training under the tutelage of Jim Driscoll and Bill Sutherland.
Wilson currently works at Wachusett Regional High School where she coaches the throwers.
