WORCESTER, Mass. – Assumption Men's Soccer Head Coach Chris Payne is excited to announce rising seniors Andres Amador (Bogota, Colombia / Revere) and Jason Lages (Edgartown, Mass. / Martha's Vineyard Regional) as well as rising junior Nicolas Cardona (San Juan, P.R. / Academia del Perpetuo Soccorro / DePaul) as captains for the 2019 season.

"I'm very excited for Jason, Andreas and Nico to lead the team this coming season," said Payne. "Jason and Andres have been part of the program for three years and know what it takes to succeed in the Northeast-10 Conference.  Nico brings the experience of leading his nation's U20 team during their CONCACAF World Cup qualifying campaign as team captain. It is hard to replicate these experiences."

Amador played in 16 games for the Hounds last season and had one goal, a game-winner against nationally-ranked Le Moyne. He has played in 47 career games for the Hounds and has started 33 of them. Lages played in 12 games last season and led the team with 20 points and nine goals. In 41 games and 37 starts with the Hounds, Lages has 23 goals and nine assists for 55 career points. Cardona played in 15 games with 12 starts last season and added one assist in his first year as part of the defensive unit.

Cardona and Lages also earned Northeast-10 All-Conference Second Team Honors last season. Lages also earned All-East Third-Team Honors from the United Soccer Coaches organization.
