WORCESTER, Mass. – Follow impressive seasons, sophomores Colby Hamwey (West Yarmouth, Mass. / Wilbraham Monson Academy) and Travis Reid (Raynham, Mass. / Bridgewater Raynham) have been named to the Division II New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) All-New England teams, as announced by the organization on Tuesday.
Hamwey was a first-team selection at goalie after putting forth an impressive campaign. He finished as one of two goalies in the nation to rank in the top-ten nationally in both save percentage and saves per game. Hamwey was eighth in save percentage at 58.4 while making 12.9 saves per game (10th) with a 9.41 GAA and 6-7 record.
Reid earned second-team honors after leading the Hounds in scoring in 2017. In 13 games, Reid totaled 45 points on 27 goals and 18 assists while picking up 24 ground balls and causing three turnovers. He also scored on 42.2 percent of his shots.
This marks the third time in the past four seasons at least two Hounds have earned All-New England honors. Assumption finished the year at 6-7 overall and seventh in the conference standings.
