WORCESTER, Mass. – Freshman Matthew Kelly (North Potomac, Md. / Quince Orchard) was named to the NE10 All-Rookie team as announced by the conference on Monday.
Kelly led the team in scoring this season, averaging 14.6 points per game while shooting 45.4 percent from the field and ranking second in the conference by playing 37.4 minutes per game. He was seventh in the NE10 with 69 threes while shooting 40.6 percent from deep, while also ranking eighth in the NE10 by shooting 81.9 percent from the free throw line. Kelly also ranked in the top 15 of the NE10 in both assists (85) and steals (32) while averaging 2.7 rebounds per contest. He was a three-time NE10 and WACBA Rookie of the Week, and scored a career-high 36 points in a tight loss to Bentley earlier this year.
Saint Anselm's Tim Guers was named the NE10 Player of the Year while Ulyen Coleman Southern Connecticut was named the Rookie of the year and Le Moyne's Russell Sangster was honored as the Defensive Player of the Year. To the view the complete list of All-Conference honorees, click here.
