WORCESTER, Mass. – Two members of the Assumption College baseball team have earned NE10 All-Conference honors, as voted by the league's 15 head coaches. Senior Andrew Jaehnig (Quincy, Mass. / Boston College) was named to the First Team, while graduate transfer Quinn Moynihan (Worcester, Mass. / Lipscomb University) was named to the Third Team.
Jaehnig concludes his Assumption career as a 2x First-Team All-NE10 performer, while also earning Second-Team honors his sophomore campaign, after picking up All-Rookie accolades during his freshman year. Jaehnig started every game in 2018 either behind the plate or as the DH. He batted .316 (.336 in conference) with a .394 on base percentage and led the team with a .439 slugging percentage, to go with 30 RBI, 30 runs, seven doubles, a pair of triples and four home runs. The Quincy, Mass. native also registered 19 multi-hit games and reached base safely in 41 of the 47 games. Earlier in the season he became the 11th player in program history to notch 200 career hits and the first since 2010. Jaehnig was also named NE10 Player of the Week on April 3rd after slashing .444/.545/1.333 to go with two home runs, a triple, eight RBI and three runs in a 2-0 week for the Hounds.
Moynihan made an immediate impact in his one year as a Hound, leading the team in batting average (.335), on base percentage (.406), hits (65), runs (34), triples (3) and stolen bases (9). He started all 47 games in the outfield and added eight doubles, a home run and 19 RBI. On the season, Moynihan tallied a hit in 36 games, including putting together a season high 12 game hitting streak from 3/28 to 4/14.
