WORCESTER, Mass. – Following the conclusion of all Northeast 10 winter sports championships, Assumption is tied for second in the Presidents' Cup Standings, as announced by the conference Wednesday.

Assumption has 119.5 points following the winter season, tied with Merrimack who also has 119.5 points. Stonehill leads the Presidents' Cup with 125.5 points, while Southern New Hampshire (114.5) and Adelphi (107) round out the top five. The 119.5 points is the highest-ever total for Assumption following the winter season.

"I am proud of our student-athletes and all they accomplished in competition during the winter to help our department earn the highest winter point total in school history," said Director of Athletics Jamie Marcoux. "Our spring programs have already started strong and I look forward to seeing how they perform the rest of the year as we continue to strive for excellence athletically, academically and in the community."

This winter, women's swimming & diving captured the program's fourth NE10 Championship in the past six years, winning by over 100 total points. In addition to their success, women's track and field posted the program's first-ever runner-up finish in the NE10 Championships, led by three individual NE10 Championships. Men's track & field also impressed by tying its best-ever performance in the NE10 Championships with a fifth place finish. Men's hockey, meanwhile, finished tied for second in the regular season standings.

The Presidents' Cup is presented annually to signify overall athletic excellence in the Northeast-10. The honor is awarded to the institution that compiles the most cumulative points, based on finishes in the regular-season standings, from all of its programs competing in league championships.
