Visiting Team Information

Facilities
- Andrew Laska Gymnasium is the home of the Greyhound’s intercollegiate women’s volleyball, men’s basketball and women’s basketball programs.

- The Multi-Sport Stadium is the home of the intercollegiate football, women’s soccer, men’s soccer, field hockey, women’s lacrosse and men’s lacrosse programs.

- Normand R. Marois '55 Field is the home of the intercollegiate softball program

- H.L. Rocheleau '24 Field is the home of the intercollegiate baseball program.

Sports Medicine Facilities 
The Assumption College Sports Medicine Department /Athletic Training Room is located on the ground floor of Laska Gymnasium.  All teams are welcome to use the Athletic Training Room for pre- and post-competition services. For all football home games, an athletic training service area will be set up for pre- and post-game treatments. If services need to be rendered for a team that is not traveling  with a Certified Athletic Trainer, please contact Randy Logan, Assistant Director of Athletics for Sports Medicine, at (508) 767-7238, prior to the team's arrival. 

Football and Men’s Lacrosse
Visiting team locker rooms are located in the Plourde Recreation Center (adjacent to the stadium).

The College’s team physician will be present for all home football contests, in addition to an ambulance for emergency transportation. Student-athletes in need of emergency transportation service will be transported to UMASS Memorial Medical Center. Catastrophic injuries will be transported to UMASS Medical University Campus.

Ice Hockey
Visiting teams are advised to report directly to Charles A. Buffone Rink (284 Lake Avenue, Worcester, Mass.).  An athletic training service area is available for pre- and post-game treatments and MD consults. Student-athletes in need of emergency transportation service will be transported to UMASS Medical University Campus.

Modalities
All Certified Athletic Trainers are welcome to use any of the modalities which include, heat pack, ice, ultrasound and electrical stimulation. If a team is traveling without a certified athletic trainer, please send a written note containing parameters for any modality treatments.

Reciprocal Coverage
Football, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, ice hockey, women’s lacrosse and men’s lacrosse are the teams which travel with a certified athletic trainer.  All other teams do not normally travel with a certified athletic trainer, with the exception of the NCAA Championships. Every effort will be made to service those athletes before they arrive at your campus. In the event this is not possible, Assumption College Sports Medicine will contact the host campus with details of necessary treatments.

- Follow Salisbury Street for 2 miles   (through 4 sets of lights)

- At fourth set of lights take right on Lincoln Street (Rte. 70 South), following signs for Interstate 290 and Rte. 9 E/W

- At first light turn left on Rte. 9/Belmont Street (police station on corner)

- Hospital is one half mile on the left


Directions to UMass Memorial Hospital - University Campus
55 Lake Ave North, Worcester, MA 01655

- From Assumption College campus turn left on Salisbury Street

- Follow Salisbury Street for 2 miles   (through 4 sets of lights)

- At fourth set of lights take right on Lincoln Street (Rte. 70 South), following signs for Interstate 290 and Rte. 9 E/W

- At first light turn left on Rte. 9/Belmont Street (police station on corner)

- Follow this for approximately 2.5 miles (look for Beechwood Hotel on left)

- Turn left (at lights) on Plantation Street 

- Hospital is on the right hand side.


Directions to UMass Memorial - Hahnemann Campus

- From Assumption College campus turn left on Salisbury Street

- Follow Salisbury Street for 2 miles  (through 4 sets of lights)

- At fourth set of lights take left on Lincoln Street (Rte. 70 North)

- Go under I-290 and continue for one mile

- Hospital is on the right, parking is in the rear.
