Hounds Finish 10th at Connecticut College Invtational

Waterford, Conn. (October 15) -- The Assumption men's cross country team finished in 10th place out of 14 teams at the Connecticut College Invitational on Saturday, hosted in Waterford, Conn. Leading the way for the Hounds were freshman Tony Fierimonte (Northborough, Mass./Algonquin Regional) and senior Kyle Higgins (Braintree, Mass./Braintree).

Fierimonte was the top freshman finisher in the race as he placed 17th overall out of 211 runners with a time of 26:33. Higgins was next for the Greyhounds, crossing the line in 37th place at 27:09. Freshman Bobby Finnegan (Uxbridge, Mass./Hopedale) placed 77th in 27:59, followed by freshman Erich Grosse (Bayport, N.Y./Bayport Bluepoint) in 28:12.

Freshman Sean Phayre (Smithfield, R.I./La Salle Academy) crossed in 102nd in 28:19, followed by senior Chris Trajkovski (Wilbraham, Mass./Minnechaug) in 103rd at 28:22.

Assumption is back in action on Sunday, October 23rd as the Hounds travel to the Northeast-10 Conference championship.
