Hounds Place 10th Out of 34 Teams at Shriners Invitational

North Dartmouth, Mass. (September 17) -- Assumption freshman Tony Fierimonte placed 15th overall out of 255 finishers as the Greyhounds finished 10th among 37 total teams at the 2011 UMass Dartmouth Shriners Cross Country Invitational on Saturday morning.

Fierimonte, the second Northeast-10 runner to cross the line, finished in a time of 25:23 over the five-mile course, a pace of 5:07per mile. Senior Kyle Higgins was next for the Greyhounds, placing 29th in 26:06, a pace of 5:15 per mile.

Bobby Finnegan was the third Hound to cross the line, placing 72nd in 26:52, followed by Erich Grosse in 88th place. Grosse ran a time of 27:17, which is a pace of 5:30 per mile. Chris Trajkovsky was the final scoring runner to finish for Assumption, finishing in 27:20 with a pace of 5:30 per mile.

Assumption is back in action on Saturday, September 24th as the Greyhounds travel to the Purple Valley Classic, hosted by Williams College.
