Fierimonte, Greyhounds Place Third at Keene State Invitational

Keene, N.H. (September 3) -- At the season-opening Keene Invitational on Saturday morning, the Assumption College cross country team placed third among eight teams overall and second among three Northeast-10 schools.

Leading the way for the Greyhounds was freshman Tony Fierimonte, who placed third in a time of 15:55 over the five-kilometer course. Freshman Sean Phayre finished in 25th in 17:07, followed in 26th by classmate Bobby Finnegan in a time of 17:12. Erich Grosse was the fourth Greyhound runner in 36th place with a time of 17:41, followed by senior Chris Trajkovski in 40th in 17:51 to close out the scoring for the Greyhounds.

The Greyhounds are back in action next weekend when the team travels to Manchester, N.H. for the Shacklette Invitational, held on the campus of Saint Anselm College
