Men FOURTH at Saint Rose Joust cross country

CROSSINGS OF COLONIE, NY --- Freshman JOANNA SILVA-JONES (New Bedford, MA/New Bedford) and junior KELSEY BALTZELL (Sutton, MA/Sutton) finished 12th and 13th to lead the Assumption College women's cross country team to a third-place finish in the College of Saint Rose Joust.
The three-mile event was won by the host institution Saint Rose (36) followed by Le Moyne (53), Assumption (85), Nyack (93), SUNY-Cobleskill (124) and Broome CC (134).
Silva-Jones toured the course in 21:47 while Baltzell was just eight seconds behind.
On the men's side the Greyhounds finished fourth with sophomore CHRIS TRAJKOVSKY (Wilbraham, MA/Minnechaug) leading the way with a 13th-place finish. Senior captain BRENDAN DANAHER (West Hartford, CT/Northwest Catholic) was 19th and junior CHRIS MC DERMOTT (Natick, MA/Marian) was 21st. Trajkovsky ran the 5.0-mile men's event in 29:09 followed by Danaher (30:07) and McDermott (30:21).
Saint Rose won the men's race with 25 points followed by Le Moyne (66), SUNY-Cobleskill (66), Assumption (104), Broome CC (115), Nyack (173) and Hudson Valley CC (177).
