Greyhounds Record Sweep For Second Straight Day

Worcester, Mass. (April 13) -- The Assumption College women's tennis team swept Franklin Pierce University, 9-0, marking the second straight day the Greyhounds recorded a sweep at the Assumption College tennis courts on Friday afternoon. The Greyhounds celebrated senior day, honoring seniors Marissa Charles (Mystic, Conn./Saint Bernard) and Jen Erickson (Simsbury, Conn./Simsbury), and each picked up a win in their final home match.

Erickson won 6-0, 6-1 at number three singles, while Charles picked up a 6-3, 6-3 victory at number five singles. Each players also won their respective doubles match.

The Greyhounds also picked up a point from junior Erica Micciche (Framingham, Mass./Framingham), who won at number two singles, 6-0, 6-1, and has now won eight of her last nine singles matches.

The Greyhounds improved to 8-12 on the season and will return to action on Saturday, April 14 at Saint Anselm College to wrap up their schedule. The match will begin at 1 p.m. in Manchester, N.H.
