Neil Stafford resigns as women's soccer coach

WORCESTER, Mass. --- Neil Stafford, the head women's soccer coach at Assumption College since 2001 has resigned that position effective immediately.
The announcement was made by Ted Paulauskas, Director of Athletics.
Stafford is expected to accept another position in the collegiate ranks in the near future.
Stafford, who led the Greyhounds to a 7-9-2 overall record this past season, is the all-time winningest coach in women's soccer history at the College posting a 72-61-16 mark in his eight-year head coaching career. He also spend a year (2000) as the associate head coach for both the men and women's programs.
In 2004 the team advanced to the Northeast-10 Conference final and earned the program's first N.C.A.A. regional bid---advancing to the title game. The was ranked No. 14 in the final national poll. The team reached the final of both the conference playoffs and the regional again in 2005.

The Greyhounds are an N.C.A.A. Division II institution and a charter member of the Northeast-10 Conference.
