Worcester, Mass. (May 13) -- The Assumption College Department of Athletics recently held the First “Houndies” Student-Athlete Awards Night, honoring the top student-athletes and accomplishments from the 2015-2016 athletic season. The event was held in Laska Gym with nearly 700 student-athletes and special guests in attendance and featured women’s basketball head coach Kerry Phayre and football head coach Bob Chesney as emcees for the evening.
The Assumption College rowing team competed in its final event of the season, the New England Rowing Championships, on Saturday at Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester. The Hounds raced a novice four boat, which earned a spot on the Novice Four Grand Final, and a varsity four boat which qualified for the Varsity Four Petite Final.
The Assumption College rowing team completed its second-to-last competition of the season on Saturday as the Hounds competed in the 2016 Northeast-10 Rowing Championship. Assumption raced two boats on the day while setting a new program record in the novice four race.

Worcester, Mass. (April 6) -- The Assumption College Department of Athletics has signed a three-year contract extension with Kangaroo Crossing as the department’s official Nike apparel and equipment supplier, as announced by Nick Smith, director of athletics.
The Assumption College women's rowing team competed against Florida Institute of Technology on Saturday, March 12. The squad competed in Fellsmere, Fla. over spring break where they raced a varsity eight boat along with two four boats. The four boats included one varsity and one novice.

The Assumption College women's rowing team opened its season in tumultuous fashion on Sunday at the Textile River Regatta in rough conditions. Due to the harsh weather conditions, the varsity eight boat was unable to compete, but the novice four boat kicked off first and was able to finish early competition.
Cleveland, Ohio (August 21) -- The Division 2 Athletic Directors Association (D2ADA) has announced the 2014-2015 recipients of the D2 ADA Achievement Awards as 48 Assumption College student-athletes are among those recognized with this honor.
