WORCESTER, Mass. – Assumption women's rowing put forth a pair of strong performances with its Varsity 4 and Varsity 8 boats on Saturday at the Quinsigamond Snake Regatta on Lake Quinsigamond.
The Varsity 4 boat placed 13th out of 22 boats in the event, with its time of 18:29.44. The team finished just one second behind Endicott and ahead of the Bryant and Rensselaer 'A' boats, while UNH won the event in 16:23.31.
The Varsity 8, meanwhile, took 10th in the 2.5 mile race with a time of 16:16. 24. The Hounds finished ahead of the 'A' boats of Johnson & Wales, Middlebury and Conn. College. WPI won the event in 14:38.40 while Holy Cross was second in 15:11.01.
"Both boats raced well and had a clean row down the 2.5 mile course," said head coach Aline Seekins. "We have two weeks now to work on some things and continue to improve before we will conclude our fall season with a scrimmage against Clark University on October 28th."
