Greyhounds Fall to Franklin Pierce on Senior Day
Worcester, Mass. (April 28) -- The Greyhounds dropped an 11-10 final to Franklin Pierce University at the Multi-Sport Stadium on Saturday afternoon on Senior Day.
The Greyhounds honored three seniors, Meg Daly (
Canton, Mass./Canton), Danielle D'Amico (Johnston, R.I./LaSalle Academy),and Laura Strelis (Arlington, Mass./Arlington Catholic)prior to the start of the game. By starting the game, Daly broke the career games played record in Assumption College history, with 58 games played.Amy McNeil (Orange, Conn./Amity) had four goals in the loss to finish the season with 56, the second highest total in school history, while Camille Auger (Kennebunk, Maine/Kennebunk), and Steph O'Rourke (
Amherst, N.H./Souhegan) each scored three goals in the game. McNeil also finished the season with 60 total points, the fourth highest total in school history.The Greyhounds held a 6-4 lead at the half, behind three McNeil goals, but Assumption allowed seven second-half goals en route to the loss. The Greyhounds finish the season at 5-11 overall and 4-8 in Northeast-10 Conference play.
