Greyhounds Drop Non-Conference Game to Mercy
Worcester, Mass. (April 26) -- The Assumption College women's lacrosse team dropped an 18-11 decision to Mercy College in non-conference action at The Multi-Sport Stadium on Wednesday.
Steph O'Rourke (Amherst, N.H./Souhegan) scored three goals for Assumption, while Amy McNeil (Orange, Conn./Amity) and Kathryn Beall (Shrewsbury, Mass./Shrewsbury) each had two goals for the Greyhounds.
Assumption fell behind 4-1 over the first 10 minutes of play, but from that moment on, played even, finished the half down three, 9-6, as Beall scored a goal with 3:14 to play.
Mercy took control of the game in the second half, scoring five of the first six goals, to extend the lead to seven, 14-7, and built the lead as high as 10, 18-8, before the Greyhounds scored the final three goals of the game.
Assumption falls to 5-10 overall, and will return to play on April 28 for Senior Night. The game will feature the Franklin Pierce University Ravens at 4:00 p.m.
