Greyhounds Fall To Top Ranked Le Moyne College
Syracuse, N.Y. (March 27) -- The Assumption College women's lacrosse fell to No. 1 ranked Le Moyne College on Tuesday night, 18-4. Freshman Amy McNeil (Orange, Conn./Amity) and junior captain Steph O'Rourke (Amherst, N.H./Souhegan) each scored two goals for the Greyhounds in the loss.
The Greyhounds fell behind 3-0 in the first three minutes of the game, but cut the Dolphin lead to two on a goal by McNeil, her 20th of the season, on a free position shot with 25:23 remaining in the first half.
Le Moyne scored the final 10 goals of the half to take a 13-1 into halftime. The Dolphins scored the first two goals of the second half to extend the lead to 14, 15-1, but the Greyhounds played even from that point on for the 18-4 final.
Le Moyne improves to 6-0 with the victory, and 3-0 in the Northeast-10 Conference, while Assumption falls to 2-5 overall and 1-3 in conference play.
