WORCESTER, Mass. - After a pair of dominant performances last week, junior Morgan O'Donnell (Easton, Ma. / Ursuline Academy) was selected as the Worcester Area College Basketball Association (WACBA) Player of the Week today, as announced by the association.
O'Donnell averaged 17.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.5 blocks per game while shooting 73.3 percent from the field, leading Assumption to 1-1 week. The junior began the week with 10 points, six rebounds and three assists in a 60-56 loss to Saint Anselm. Later in the week she set a new career high in scoring while also posting a double-double. O'Donnell had 24 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and two blocks in a 64-53 win over Saint Michael's at home. The junior was 7-for-9 from the field and 10-of-12 from the free throw line in an incredibly efficient game.
This season O'Donnell leads the team in scoring and rebounding, averaging 13.4 points and 8.1 rebounds per game while shooting 49.5 percent from the floor. She and the rest of the Hounds look to win their second straight game when they travel to play Franklin Pierce Wednesday at 5:30 pm.
