  • Kelsey Johnstone Named NE10 Rookie of the Year

    WORCESTER, Mass. – Freshman Kelsey Johnstone (Southwick, Mass. / Westfield) of the Assumption College swimming and diving team has been named the 2016-17 NE10 Conference Rookie of the Year for her outstanding inaugural season, the league announced today.
  • Shannon Quirk Earns Program's First NCAA Championship Selection

    WORCESTER, Mass. – Sophomore Shannon Quirk (Wakefield, Mass. / Wakefield Memorial) of the Assumption College women's swimming team became the first swimmer in program history to be selected to compete at the Division II NCAA National Championships. The championships will be held in Birmingham, Alabama during the NCAA Division II National Championships Festival on March 8th through March 11th.
  • Women's Swimming & Diving Places Second At NE10 Championship

    The Lead: The Assumption College women's swimming & diving team produced a massive comeback on the final day of the 2017 NE10 Championships, overcoming a 60 point deficit to make the score so close that the officials could not indicate a winner after recounting the score numerous times. After every team left the pool deck, it was announced that Assumption placed second with 851 points, as Southern Connecticut won with 861 points.
  • Hounds Remain in Second Place After Day Three

    - The Lead: The Assumption College women's swimming & diving team remain in second place after day three of the 2017 NE10 Championships on Saturday evening with a team score of 552 after 27 events. The Hounds finished the day strong, as the two 200 freestyle relay’s claimed the gold medal and the B final.

    The Lead: The Assumption College women's swimming & diving team finished day two of the 2017 NE10 Championships in second place on Friday evening with a team score of 316 after 14 events. The Hounds trail Southern Connecticut by just four points and lead third place Bentley by 55 points.
  • Women's Swimming & Diving Picked to Four-Peat NE10 Swim Title

    WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption College women's swimming team has its eyes on the 2017 NE10 Championship, as they’ve been selected to win their fourth straight NE10 Championship in the 2017 Coaches' Poll, the league announced today. The Hounds are set to travel to Southern Connecticut State University on Thursday, February 16 through Sunday, February 19 at the Hutchinson Natatorium.
  • Women's Swimming Falls at No. 20 Bridgeport, 161-101
    January 28, 2017
    The Lead: The Assumption College women's swimming & diving team fell 161-101 to No. 20 Bridgeport this afternoon in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Freshman Kelsey Johnstone (Southwick, Mass. / Westfield) was the only Hound to record a win on the day, as the freshman won both the 100 meter breaststroke and the 200 meter breaststroke.
  • Women's Swimming & Diving Awarded Scholar All-America Honors

    NORFOLK, Va.– The Assumption College swimming team has been recognized as one of just five teams in the Northeast-10 Conference to earn the Scholar All-America designation for their performance in the classroom during the Fall 2016 semester, the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced. The honor marks the 19th straight semester that the Hounds have been named to the list.
  • Women's Swimming Knocks Off No. 22 LIU Post, 134-125

    - The Lead: The Assumption College women's swimming & diving team defeated #22 LIU Post 134-125 on senior day at the Plourde Pool today. The Hounds have now won 16 straight home meets and have not lost at the Plourde since November 18th, 2011.
  • Assumption's Rachel Lanam Makes Open Water Rescue During Training Trip

    WORCESTER, Mass. - Assumption College women’s swimming and diving team member Rachel Lanam (Sebastian, Fla. / Sebastian River) helped a woman to safety during the Greyhounds’ winter training trip in Barbados. The senior, who grew up in Florida and was a lifeguard for two summers, noticed the woman was in distress, being pulled by a strong undertow. Lanam explained to Worcester News Tonight that she knew immediately she needed to get out to the woman and help her get safely back to the beach.
