Softball Heads To Merrimack For NE10 Tournament

 
WORCESTER, Mass.- No. 4 seeded Assumption heads to Merrimack today to face the No. 3 seed Warriors in the first round of the NE10 Tournament. 
 
The Hounds are entering the NE10 Tournament 19-15 overall and 14-10 in the NE10. Senior Stephanie Menard (Cranston, R.I./Cranston) leads the offense with a .344 batting average, .406 on base percentage, and a .591 slugging percentage. The first baseman also has 32 hits, 13 runs, 18 RBI and five home runs. Kayla Peabody (Mendon, Mass./ Nipmuc Regional High School) has 28 hits this season to go with 12 RBI, while freshman Alyssa Beaton (Smithfield, R.I./ Smithfield) has 18 RBI. Senior pitcher Kendal Roy (Grafton, Mass./Grafton) has a 3.05 ERA and 87 strikeouts over 128.1 innings pitched to go with a 11-9 overall record. 
 
Merrimack enters today's contest at 30-13 and 17-10 in NE10 Conference play. The team is currently ranked second in the NE10 with a .309 batting average, and ranked third in runs with 213 and RBI with 189. Senior Alyssa Williamson leads the offense with a .444 batting average, .462 on base percentage, and a .542 slugging percentage. She has also recorded 28 RBI, 63 hits, and 22 runs. Junior Nicole Nanof leads the team in home runs with six and 30 RBI. Senior pitcher Megan Cook has a 1.25 ERA, 163 strikeouts, and has pitched 190.1 innings to go with a 22-4 overall record.
