DiPilato Earns Northeast-10 Rookie of the Week Honors

Easton, Mass. (April 2) -- Assumption College softball freshman third baseman Jess DiPilato (Worcester, Mass./Holy Name) has been named as the Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the Week for her play during the week ending April 1st.

For the week, DiPilato batted a team-high .692 with nine hits in 13 at-bats, including a pair of doubles and a home run. She also scored seven runs with runs batted in, 14 total bases, three walks, a 1.077 slugging percentage, a .750 on-base percentage and a pair of stolen bases.

In a home sweep of Southern New Hampshire on Sunday, DiPilato was a perfect 7-for-7 at the plate, along with three walks, as she raised her average 71 points to a season-high of .382. She has now reached base in 11 straight at-bats and has a seven-game hitting streak.

Assumption is currently 14-9 overall, 7-3 in Northeast-10 Conference play and in third place in the league standings. The Hounds are back in action on Tuesday, April 3rd as the team travels to Pace University for a doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m.
