Leung Earns Fifth NE-10 Rookie Honor

Easton, Mass. (April 15) -- Men's tennis freshman standout Marco Leung (Macao/The International School of Macao) has been named as the Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the Week for the fifth time this season and the fourth time in the last five weeks. Overall, Assumption has claimed five straight Rookie of the Week honors and one Player of the Week award in the 2013-2014 season.

On an 11-match winning streak in singles play that dates back to September 2013, Leung posted a 2-0 mark at No. 2 singles last week with wins over Stonehill and Saint Anselm. After a straight-set victory over the Skyhawks, Leung posted a 6-0, 6-0 shutout of Saint Anselm as the Hounds didn't drop a single game in a 9-0 rout of the Hawks on Saturday afternoon in Worcester.

Under the direction of head coach Dan Munsey, the Assumption men's tennis team has qualified for the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament for the first time since 2009. The Hounds wrap up the 2014 regular season on Thursday, April 17th as Assumption hosts Saint Michael's for a 3 p.m. start.
