Worcester, Mass. (October 30) -- On Saturday at halftime of the football game, Sean Kenney '03 was recognized for his induction into the Northeast-10 Conference Hall of Fame earlier this year as part of the 2012 Hall of Fame Class. On hand to make the presentation was Northeast-10 Conference commissioner Julie Ruppert, along with Assumption College president Dr. Francesco Cesareo and director of athletics Nick Smith.
The top tennis player in Assumption history, Kenney was inducted into the Assumption College Hall of Fame in 2010 after posting a combined singles and doubles record of 151-12 over his four-year career. A four-time Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Year and First Team All-Conference selection, Kenney posted a combined singles and doubles record of 95-2 in Northeast-10 play as the Hounds won all 43 Northeast-10 matches over his career. A two-time team captain, he was named as the 2003 Northeast-10 Conference Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year and earned an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship after graduating magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in economics theory and a minor in finance.
