Men’s Lacrosse Picked Eighth in NE10 Preseason Poll

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption College men's lacrosse team has been picked eighth in the Northeast 10 Preseason Poll, as announced by the conference on Monday.

The Hounds earned 53 total points, just eight behind Bentley who was in seventh with 63. Southern New Hampshire placed fifth with 66. National runner-up Merrimack earned nine first place votes and 119 total points to headline the poll while Le Moyne followed with 112 points and two first place votes. Adelphi earned the last first place nod and had 99 points.

Pace finished fourth with 94 points while Saint Anselm was fifth with 80 points. Franklin Pierce took 9th while Saint Michael's, Saint Rose and AIC rounded out the final three positions in the poll. To view the NE10 release click here.

Last year Assumption went 6-7 overall and 5-6 in NE10 action, finishing a game out of the NE10 Tournament. The Hounds had five games decided by three goals or less, going 2-3 in those matchups, which included overtime losses to Le Moyne (8-7) and Saint Anselm (10-9). They do return their top six scorers from last year, as well as their top two goalies.

Assumption opens its season on the road, facing Wilmington in Delaware on Sunday, Mar. 4 at 12 pm.
