Ice Dogs Fall to Non-Conference Foe Framingham State
Worcester, Mass. (February 15) -- The Assumption men's ice hockey team lost to non-conference opponent Framingham State, 4-0, at the Buffone Arena in Worcester, Mass. on Wednesday night.
Framingham State took advantage of two power play goals, in the first and third periods, as well as two even strength goals in the second period for the victory.
Assumption netminder Nick Blanchette (Stuart, Florida/Worcester Academy) made 37 saves in the loss, while Nick Cafrelli turned away 32 shots in the shutout victory.
Assumption falls to 12-9-1 on the season, while Framingham State improves to 5-13-4 with the win.
The Ice Dogs return to action on Saturday, February 18, when the team travels to Stonehill to wrap up its Northeast-10 Conference schedule. The puck will drop at 2 p.m. at The Foxboro Sports Center.
The Ice Dogs also hosted its second annual "Pink the Rink" night, and the home team wore pink jerseys in support of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
