Andrew Papaefthemiou recently completed his second season as an assistant men's basketball coach at Assumption in 2012-2013. He came to Assumption from Lee Academy, where he spent the 2010-2011 season as the men’s basketball head coach and guided the team to 18 wins.
Prior to Lee Academy, Papaefthemiou spent the 2009-2010 season at Division I Providence College as a graduate assistant.
From 2006-2009, he served as an assistant coach for Northeast-10 rival Franklin Pierce University. At Franklin Pierce, he worked with all aspects of the program, including the recruitment of a number of Northeast-10 All-Conference players.
Papaefthemiou started his coaching career at New England College, where he coached from 2003-2006. At NEC, he helped transition a four-win team into a 12-win in one season. He also helped that team earn its first Commonwealth Coast Conference playoff berth in five years. The team posted double-digit wins in both of his final seasons at NEC.
A 2000 graduate of Keene State College, Papaefthemiou graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management. In 2006, he graduated Magna Cum Laude from New England College with a Master’s of Science degree in Management/Organizational Leadership.
