Worcester, Mass. -- Assumption College senior linebacker Nick DiAntonio (Milford, Mass./Milford) has been named to the Daktronics Super Region 1 All-Region Second Team. Last week, DiAntonio was named to the New England Football Writers Division II/III All-New England Team and is competing in this weekend's inaugural Division II/NAIA Senior Bowl All-Star Game in Middletown, N.Y.
DiAntonio, a team captain this season, ended his senior year with a career-high 106 tackles. Finishing up with 46 solo stops and 60 assisted tackles, he ranked second in the Northeast-10 in tackles at 10.6 per game and has ranked among the NCAA Division II national leaders all season. DiAntonio posted a 21-tackle outing on October 1st vs. Southern Connecticut, tying the Assumption single-game record.
In addition, his 21 tackles are the second-most in a game this season in Division II. He posted five double-digit tackle games this year, including a career-high four tackles for loss in his final game vs. Stonehill on November 12th. This season, DiAntonio finished with 10 tackles for a loss of 26 yards.
DiAntonio, a Northeast-10 First Team All-Conference selection, will take part in the first annual Division II vs. NAIA Senior Bowl All-Star Game on December 3rd in Middletown, N.Y.
He ended his career with 156 total tackles, including 67 solo stops and 89 assisted tackles. DiAntonio also had three sacks, 11.5 tackles for a loss of 32 yards and eight career pass breakups.
