Worcester, Mass. -- Senior linebacker Nick DiAntonio (Milford, Mass./Milford) has been selected to play in the First Annual Division II vs. NAIA Senior Bowl All-Star Game. The game will take place on December 3rd in Middletown, New York, with a 2 p.m. kickoff featuring some of the top senior players from Division II and the NAIA.
"I am greatly honored as well as humbled to have the opportunity to be playing in a National All-Star game with All-American caliber athletes," said DiAntonio. "This is a chance to not only end my college career on a great note, but also represent the Assumption College Football Program on a national level."
DiAntonio, a team captain this season, ended his senior year with 106 tackles, a career high. Finishing up with 46 solo stops and 60 assisted tackles, he ranked second in the Northeast-10 in tackles at 10.6 per game and has ranked among the NCAA Division II national leaders all season. DiAntonio posted a 21-tackle outing on October 1st vs. Southern Connecticut, tying the Assumption single-game record. In addition, his 21 tackles are the second-most in a game this season in Division II. He posted five double-digit tackle games this year, including a career-high four tackles for loss in his final game vs. Stonehill on November 12th. This season, DiAntonio finished with 10 tackles for a loss of 26 yards.
He ends his career with 156 total tackles, including 67 solo stops and 89 assisted tackles. DiAntonio also had three sacks, 11.5 tackles for a loss of 32 yards and eight career pass breakups.
