Dupuis, Migrants named pre-season baseball all-America
January 29, 2010 WORCESTER, Mass. --- Assumption College senior closer TIM DUPUIS (West Suffield, CT/Suffield High) and senior outfielder DEREK MIGRANTS (Ayer, MA/Ayer) have been named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association 2010 N.C.A.A. Division II preseason all-America team. Dupuis earned first-team honors while Migrants was named on the third team. The Greyhounds, who finished with a team-record 34 wins last season (33-21. -1) and earned the program’s third N.C.A.A. January 29, 2010 Michael Colebrook has filled his time at Assumption College pursuing excellence in and out of the classroom. In addition to his studies, he is a three-time captain of the baseball team which advanced to the Northeast-10 Conference championship game and subsequently to the last year’s N.C.A.A regional playoffs. As a student athlete, he is determined that academics must come first. Colebrook is a French and philosophy double major and works at the College’s Academic Support Center as a tutor in both of those subjects. [READ MORE]
Greyhounds Mike Baillargeon named ABCA all-America
May 26, 2009 WORCESTER, Mass. --- Assumption College senior second baseman MIKE BAILLARGEON (Worcester, MA/Holy Name) has capped off a superb career with the Greyhounds being named to the Rawlings/American Baseball Coaches Association N.C.A.A. Division II All American second team. Baillargeon, who led the team to its winningest season in its 92-year history, is one of just two representatives from the Northeast-10 Conference and the New England region to be selected. Only junior pitcher Kyle Vazquez of Franklin Pierce University joined him as a third-team selection. He is the ninth Greyhound (honored 11 times) to be honored as an all American in baseball. Wilmington ends Hounds dream season in N.C.A.A. regional
May 16, 2009 RINDGE, NH --- Sophomore lefthander CAMERON SAIENNI (Wilmington, DE/McKean) pitched 6.1 strong innings allowing just six hits and striking out six to lead Wilmington, DE past Assumption College, 10 1, in the N.C.A.A. Division II East Regional here SATURDAY. The game eliminated the Greyhounds from the tournament and finished their winningiest season in history at 33-21-1.
