WORCESTER, Mass. – Assumption College junior catcher Andrew Jaehnig (Quincy, Mass. / Boston College) has added two more accolades to his decorated career, as the Quincy, Massachusetts native collected All-East Region First-Team honors from the Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA), as well as the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA).
This is the second time in Jaehnig's career he's earned First Team All-East Region honors from both organizations, previously earning the recognition during his All-American campaign a season ago. Jaehnig adds the awards to his 2018 tally, as he's already been named All-NE10 First-Team after starting every game in 2018 either behind the plate or as the DH. He batted .316 (.336 in conference) with a .394 on base percentage and led the team with a .439 slugging percentage, to go with 30 RBI, 30 runs, seven doubles, a pair of triples and four home runs. The Quincy, Mass. native also registered 19 multi-hit games and reached base safely in 41 of the 47 games. Earlier in the season he became the 11th player in program history to notch 200 career hits and the first since 2010. Jaehnig was also named NE10 Player of the Week on April 3rd after slashing .444/.545/1.333 to go with two home runs, a triple, eight RBI and three runs in a 2-0 week for the Hounds.
