Greyhound women's soccer stopped on late overtime goal by UMass Lowell, 1-0

WORCESTER, Mass. --- Freshman midfielder MELISSA ARN (North Andover, MA/North Andover) scored in the 105th minute as the University of Masssachuetts Lowell defeated Assumption College, 1-0, in double overtime SATURDAY at the Multi-Sport Stadium.

The unassisted goal, her first career goal, extended the River Hawks win streak to four straight and improved the team's road record to 3-0. UMass Lowell is now 5-2 overall and 5-1 in the conference, while the Greyhounds are now 2-4 overall and 2-3 in the conference.

Senior goalie JAMIE GILLIS (North Billerica, MA/Billerica) made just four saves to post the shutout, her third straight this season. She previously blanked New Haven (1-0) and Saint Anselm (3-0) entering the game.

Greyhounds junior goalkeeper LAUREN KEATING (Nashua, NH/Nashua North) made nine saves.

The River Hawks held a 17-7 edge in shots and a slight advantage with four corner kicks to the Greyhounds three.

Assumption is next in action SATURDAY (September 26) when they travel to Saint Michael's College in another Northeast-10 Conference game at 2:30 p.m. UMass Lowell is at the University of Bridgeport SUNDAY (September 20) at 6 p.m.
