Greyhounds Dominate Tip Off Tournament

Assumption defeats St. Michael's (3-0) and Nyack (3-0)


WORCESTER, Mass. --- Assumption College opened its women's volleyball season by winning two matches in their inaugural Tip Off Tournament SATURDAY at the Laska Gym. The Greyhounds defeated Saint Michael's (3-0) and Nyack (3-0).

The Greyhounds were led by their dynamic freshman duo of middle blocker ALYSSA THIBODEAU (Belchertown, MA/Belchertown) and setter SARAH SULLIVAN (Bourne, MA/Bourne).

Thibodeau was the standout with seven kills and seven blocks in the 3-0 win over Saint Michael's, while Sullivan played the catalyst role with 16 set assists, five kills and five service aces. In the second win over Nyack, Sullivan again led the way with 13 set assists, 7 digs, 2 kills and a block. Thibodeau finished with 4 kills, 3 blocks and a dig. Junior libero LAUREN RASWYCK (Litchfield, NH/Campbell) had 43 digs in the Hounds two wins.
