Hounds' Brian Gordon Named All-American

Senior defensive tackle BRIAN GORDON (Quaker Hill, CT/Waterford) has added two more honors to his already bulging trophy case. He has been named to the Football Gazette all-region first-team and the Football Gazette all-America second-team.

Previously, Gordon had earned first-team status on the New England Football Writers Division II-III All-Star Team, the Northeast-10 Conference All-Stars and the Worcester Area Football Association All-Stars. He was named the co-Defensive Player-of-the-Year in Worcester for the second consecutive year.

He finished third in the Northeast-10 Conference with 12 quarterback sacks and second with 33 tackles-for-loss---which established a new Hounds' standard breaking the old mark set by Peter Garrity (1985). He set a new record with 27 sacks, a half sack better than Brett Svendsen's (1999-2002) previous mark (26.5). His 12 sacks this year tied the Hounds' varsity record (Adam Sandora had 12 in 1990)---and only 'club' players Garrity (1985) and Jeff Blanchard (1980) who both had 14 had more in one season.

He finished as the Hounds' 13th leading tackler with 124-132--256 for his career.
