Greyhound results at Shacklette Invitational . . .
GOFFSTOWN, N.H. --- Junior captain
KYLE HIGGINS (Braintree, MA/Braintree), the
Northeast-10 Conference Male Athlete-of-the-Week last week, again
led the Assumption College men’s cross country team at the
Shacklette Invitational hosted by Saint Anselm College here
SATURDAY.
The Greyhounds men’s team finished fifth
of seven teams in the event won by Bentley University. Team
scores: Bentley (15), Saint Anselm (70), Merrimack (73),
Norwich (127), Assumption (138), Saint Rose (153) and Southern New
Hampshire (171).
Higgins finished 16th in the scoring at 28:56.6
over the 8K course. Junior captain CHRIS
TRAJKOVSKI (Wilbraham, MA/Minnechaug) was 25th (30:04.4)
and freshman MARK MAC NEIL (Northboro,
MA/Algonquin) was 26th (30:05.6).
On the women’s side sophomore
CATHY GRIFFIN (Columbia, CT/East Catholic) was the
top individual performer running the 5K course in 2:14.5 to place
28th in the scoring, while senior captain JESSICA
CHMIELEWSKI (Newington, CT/Newington) was at 22:36.3 in
34th place.
The women’s team finished a disappointing
seventh in the event won by Bentley University. Team
scores: Bentley (33), Southern New Hampshire (62), Merrimack
(66), Saint Anselm (66), Saint Rose (136), Norwich (172) and
Assumption (179).
