Le Moyne stops Hounds women's soccer, 2-1

    SYRACUSE, N.Y. --- Junior goalie FELICIA TYNAN Oxford, NY/Oxford Academy) made five saves as Le Moyne College built a two-goal lead then hung on to defeat Assumption College, 2-1, in a Northeast-10 Conference women’s soccer game here TUESDAY.
    Sophomore midfielder GABRIELE ARIOLA (Mexico, NY/Mexico) scored her third goal of the season at 26:53 to give the Dolpins a 1-0 halftime edge.  Ariola converted a pass from junior forward LINDSAY WELLSPEAK (Alexander, NY/Alexander) and powered a drive into the upper right corner from 20 yards out.
    At the 68:40 mark freshman midfielder KATE DEASY (Pittsford, NY/Aquinas Institute) scored her second goal of the season on a feed from Ariola to make it 2-0.
    Just 38 seconds later the Hounds got on the board as freshman forward ANDREA BATES (Holden, MA/Wachusett) scored her first career goal from about 15 yards in from past the goalie’s left.  The Greyhounds would then outshoot the Dolphins 6-0 down-the-stretch looking for the game-tying goal.
    Senior goalie LAUREN KEATING (Nashua, NH/Nashua North) made four saves in net for the Greyhounds.  The Greyhounds outshot the Dolphins 18-10 and had a 5-2 edge in corner kicks.
    Assumption is now 1-5-1 overall and 1-4 in the conference, while Le Moyne improves to 3-2-2 overall and 2-2-2 in the conference.  The Greyhounds are next in action Sunday at Franklin Pierce at 1 p.m.
