Saint Rose stops Greyhound volleyball in NE-10 match

    ALBANY, N.Y. – Junior outside hitter SARAH KAHRS (Kings Park, NY/Kings Park) had 13 kills and sophomore outside hitter KAYLEIGH QUINN (Wilton, CT/Wooster) added 11 kills as The College of Saint Rose defeated Assumption College, 3-1, in a Northeast-10 Conference women’s volleyball match WEDNESDAY at the Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium.
    The game scores were:  Saint Rose, 22-25, 25-23, 25-15 and 25-14.
    Freshman middle hitter KELLY MC CONNELL (Barrington, IL/Saint Viator) led the Greyhounds with eight kills, while freshman outside hitter MARY JOHNSTON (Pearland, TX/Glenda Dawson) added six kills.
    Playing well in support roles for the Hounds were freshman setter JESS REIMERS (Okemos, MI/Okemos) finished with 19 set assists and sophomore libero STEPH WHOOTEN (Norton, MA/Bishop Feehan) ended with 17 digs.
    The Greyhounds are now 6-10 overall and 0-2 in conference matches, while Saint Rose is 3-8 overall and 1-0 in the conference.
    The Hounds are at Pace University SATURDAY in another conference match at 4 p.m. and host a tri-match SUNDAY with conference rival Le Moyne and non-conference opponent Molloy beginning at 11 a.m. in the Laska Gym.   The Golden Knights are at New Haven Saturday at 1 p.m.
