Merrimack defeats Assumption in NE-10 volleyball

    NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. --- Merrimack College clinched the final playoff berth in the upcoming Northeast-10 Conference playoffs with a 3-0 win over Assumption College here SATURDAY at the Volpe Center. It was the seventh straight win for the Warriors.
    Game scores: Merrimack, 25-14, 25-11 and 25-19.
    Senior middle blocker MEGAN MURRAY (Rancho Santa Margarita, CA) and sophmore middle blocker JENNA REILLY (Northport, NY) each had nine killss to lead the Merrimack offense. Freshman outside hitter LAUREN OSTAFIN (Avon, CT/Avon) led the Greyhounds with five kills and 12 digs.
    Setter ELYSE LORENZ (Frankfurt, IL/Lincoln-Way East) had 34 set assists and an amazing eight service aces to lead Merrimack, while freshman JESS REIMERS (Okemos, MI/Okemos) led the Greyhounds with 13 set assists and seven digs.
    The Greyhounds completed their season at 9-24 overall and 0-15 in the conference.
