Greyhound swim team receives votes in national poll
Assumption College swimming and diving team
has received votes in the national College Swimming Coaches
Association of America poll released November 10, 2010.
The Greyhounds, in just their third season of
intercollegiate competition, received 24 votes to be included in
the “also receiving votes” which would have them 42nd
nationally. It is the first time in its brief history that
the team has received mention in the national poll.
The Greyhounds are now 5-1 in dual meets having
only lost to ranked Pace University.
Assumption is one of four teams in the
Northeast-10 Conference to be included. Southern Connecticut
is ranked No. 20 and Pace University is No. 23, while Le Moyne
College received 32 votes. The Greyhounds defeated Le Moyne
Saturday.
The next poll is die to be released on December
15, 2010.
The team is next in action SATURDAY at Syracuse,
NY in a double dual meet with host Le Moyne College and the College
of Saint Rose.
