Blaisdell, Sullivan key men's soccer past A.I.C., 2-0

    WORCESTER, Mass. --- Senior goalkeeper BRANDAN SULLIVAN (Halesite, NY/Saint Dominic’s) was brilliant with 11 saves and senior forward STEVE BLAISDELL (Peabody, MA/Bishop Fenwick) scored two goals as Assumption College defeated American International College, 2-0, in a key Northeast-10 Conference men’s soccer match here SATURDAY night at the Multi-Sport Stadium.
    Blaisdell scored at 28:14 on free position kick off a foul.  The goal was unassisted.  He scored again at 69:35 on a breakaway up the right side on a blast from about 25 feet from the net.  The Hounds leading scorer now has five goals and one assist for 11 points.
    Sullivan posted his third shutout of the season and lowered his goals against average to 1.25 with 56 saves in 950 minutes of work.
    American International outshot the Greyhounds, 19-13, and had all six corner kicks in the game.
    The Greyhounds are now 5-4-2 overall and 4-4-1 in the conference tied with Merrimack College for sixth place in the standings.  American International is now 5-6-1 overall and 3-4-1 in the conference.
