A.I.C. defeats Greyhound hoop in NE-10 contest
American International 84, Assumption 63
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. --- Senior forward
ALLEN ARAGBAYE (Corona, CA/Worcester Academy)
scored 28 points, including 23 in the first half, leading American
International College past Assumption College, 84-63, in a
Northeast-10 Conference men’s basketball game WEDNESDAY night
at the Butova Gymnasium. Aragbaye made five-of-six
three-pointers.
The game start was delayed by a campus-wide
power outage. Scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. start it did not tapoff
until 8:20 p.m.
Sophomore forward RONSON QUICK
(Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) (PICTURED RIGHT) led the Greyhounds
with 16 points and five rebounds, while senior forward/captain
TOBIN HAASE (Southold, NY/Ridgewood, NJ) added 12
points.
The Yellow Jackets behind Aragbaye's torrid
shooting---converting eight-of-11 attempts from the floor and all
five of his three-point attempts led 47-30 at the half. Quick
had 12 points for the Greyhounds on five-for-eight floor
accuracy.
Junior guard ADRIAN HYNES-GUERY
(Montreal, QUE/Dawson College) made one-of-two free throws with
7:41 remaining to give the Jackets their largest lead (29 points)
at 77-48.
Assumption is now 3-5 overall and 1-3 in the
conference, while the Yellow Jackets are 5-2 overall and 3-1 in the
conference. The Greyhounds are next in action SATURDAY when
they host conference rival Le Moyne College at 3:30 p.m.
